Canada requires most travelers to have a visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before entering the country. To check if you require either of these, click here.
Visa-Required Countries and Biometrics
Those ineligible for an eTA will need to apply for a Visitor’s Visa. Information can be found here.
Please note that Canada requires biometric data as part of a visa application. This data must given in person at a Visa Application Centre. This biometric cannot be collected at an airport overseas, or upon arrival - it forms part of the visa application, and must be arranged in advance.
The processing time for visa applications can depend on the country from which you are applying from. Please check your processing time here and plan accordingly.
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
For visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling by air, Canada requires an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include United States citizens (who require only their passport) and travellers with a valid visa. Travellers will need an eTA before they can board a flight to Canada.
Letter of Invitation for Visa Purposes
An official Letter of Invitation will be granted to eligible travellers after registration and receipt of full payment. This letter authorizes your attendance at the HFM 2025 Conference and serves as an aid for your visa application.
Please note that the invitation letter does not a guarantee that you will receive a visa. It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to contact the embassy or consulate to obtain the necessary paperwork for entry into Canada.
