We report the construction of a segmented-blade linear trap [Hong et al., arXiv:2202.07465 (2022)]. Our trap has auxiliary biasing rods that would be used for compensating the micromotion. Complete development process is discussed, including the laser machining of an alumina and electroplating with gold. The surface roughness of the blade is examined via both electron and optical microscopy. Trapping laser-cooled $^{174}$Yb$^{+}$ ions in our device, the ion’s nonlinear mechanical oscillation is investigated.
