Travel support

Travel support for scientists working in developing nations

Partial travel support is available for scientists working in developing nations, as defined by the World Bank's most recent list of 'low income', 'lower middle income' or 'upper middle income' countries. A request for support should be sent to icap2020@physics.utoronto.ca by 15 March 2020, and include the following information: (1) The name and position of the person travelling; (2) The name, address and webpage of your institution; (3) An estimated budget for travel that includes the flight ticket, and any ground transport; and (4) An attached CV in pdf format that includes a list of research publications.

The application deadline is 15 March 2020. Since funds are limited, please apply early. Notifications of support will be given by 1 April 2020. Supported participants will be expected to register in full by the early-bird deadline (15 May 2020), and to present a poster at the meeting (abstract due 1 June 2020).

Student travel support

A limited number of travel grants are also available to students from any research group.  Applications are made by filling out an online application form. In addition to biographical information, this form will ask a "priority ranking", within each research group, as we typically support one student per advisor. If more than one student from the same group/advisor are applying for support, each student should indicate their relative priority in the application form.

The application deadline is 15 March 2020. Supported students are expected to register in full by the early-bird deadline (15 May 2020), and to present a poster at the meeting (abstract due 1 June 2020).
